Abstract

Mixing and soot formation processes of a transient gas jet injected into the atmospheric condition were experimented to apply the experimental results for fundamental understanding of the combustion in an internal combustion engine. The main experimental methods were 2-LIF for measurement of the distribution of the relative fuel concentration in this jet and the simultaneous application of LII and LIS for detection of the soot information in its flame.
