Abstract
Hyundai Motor Company has developed a new four speed automatic transaxle named A4AF3 - with electronic control for front wheel drive (FWD) passenger cars. This A4AF3 transaxle has realized good adaptability to driving condition by electronic control of all clutches. And the A4AF3 has achieved good shift quality and response and endurance reliability and also has adopted new shift schedule control strategy for good drivability. This paper shows the major features and performances of A4AF3.
