Abstract

Variable geometry intake manifolds, and their application to petrol engines are an insufficiently studied problem in domestic scientific circles, although they are already commonly used in foreign internal combustion engine production, even on very small engines. The main aim of this work is to study the gas-dynamic phenomenon, producing improvement of engine performance, and according to it to investigate possibilities for calculation methods giving exact equations, an algorithm with universal usage, for the intake system design. Using achieved reslllts, the design of new intake manifold for existing engine was made to recognize possible improvements of engine performance using only redesigned intake manifold.
