Abstract

Keywords: Finite Element Method; clutch; cushion disc; experimental design; forming process.

We are interested in an automotive cushion disc located in the clutch system, inside the friction. After gear change, its function is to transmit a progressive torque during the clutch reengagement which is allowed by the axial cushion disc flexibility. This disc is compressed between two facings to transmit the engine torque to the wheels. We propose to improve a Finite Element Model (FE Model) that allows us to predict the behaviour of the disc under axial load, in order to limit the lack of correlation between numerical and experimental results.
