Abstract

The alternator is the main source of electrical energy on the vehicles. The most informative characteristic concerning the alternator parameters is the current-speed characteristic. In purpose of modeling and simulating the processes in vehicle electrical system - battery charging, energy balance and etc. the mathematical representation of the current-speed characteristic of the alternator is needed. Some expressions, describing the current-speed characteristic are existed, but accuracy they provided is low. In this paper methodology of calculation of the current-speed characteristic based on technical sheet data is introduced. The evaluation of the accuracy is provided as well.
