Abstract

Keywords: truck structure, FEM, modal analysis, vibration transmissibility

This paper presents the study of the vibrational behavior of a truck structure using a model which is based on finite element method. The modal analysis was the first stage in this study development. The system`s vibrational eigenmodes were marked out and their influences upon the vibrations transmissibility were analyzed. The vibration transmissibility values between different points of the model structure were determined. A special attention was paid to study the vibration transmissibility from the power unit to the cabin, for different engine excitation frequencies, in order to emphasize the contribution of the mounting systems to diminishing the transmissibility.
