In this paper some particular problems concerning the interrelationship between technical characteristics of tank-vehicles and dangerous goods to be transported are elucidated. The prerequisite condition for such an analysis is the simultaneous evaluation of compatibility between particular dangerous substances and materials used for the construction of the tank-vehicles. The broad range of substances, exceeding list laid down in ADR 2007 (European Agreement concerning Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road), was encompassed. A bunch of results emerged and therefore it was stipulated that information system is the only way for efficient tackling to this matter. Microsoft.Net technology in combination with SQL Server/Oracle Database implying standard PC desktop application was selected. Some benefits ensuing from approach above are clearly depicted in this paper.
