Abstract

The vibration problems for the agricultural tractors are the most important associated with the have been the subject for hundreds of researches for many years. Yet, these problems which have adverse effects on both health and working efficieny of the drivers have not been solved in all aspects.

In general, the problem orginates from the fact that the natural vibration frequencies of the tractor, seat and of the driver which are the basic vibrational characteristics, are very close to each other; ond the vibration isolation possibilities are very limited. In fact, the imdependent natural vibration frequencies in the serially related tractor – seat – driver system are within a frequency range of 2 to 8 Hz. A series of vibration tests were conducted on 3 different seats and 3 different driver masses in order to determine the vibration isolation characteristics of tractor, seats and drivers. The tractor vibrations in the 1.5 – 6.0 Hz range were observed under 3 different tire peressures and with 3 drivers having different masses. The vibration isolation characteristics of seats were investigated in the 1.5 – 10 Hz range under 40 – 50 and 60 Kg masses. Assuming that the greatest impact would be on the systems of the drivers, the sensitivity determinations were made by measuring the vibrations at the waists and backs of the drivers.
