Abstract
A significant portion of North American trucks in the weight range of 6 to 15 metric tons utilizes hydraulic brake systems as opposed to more expensive air brake systems. Hydraulic brake actuation systems for this particular class of medium duty trucks will experience a major upgrade in technology and features over the next 3-5 years. These changes are driven by several factors.
