Abstract
The paper summarizes the work of the United Nations (UN) Economic Commission for Europe (ECE) Working Party on Pollution and Energy (GRPE) which deals with world-wide harmonization of regulation on motor vehicle exhaust emissions and fuel consumption. Especially, the new regulations or amendment to existing regulation accepted within last two year or intended to be accepted in near future are reviewed. Discussed problems are: exhaust emissions of passenger cars and light trucks, emissions of heavy duty diesel engines, new testing procedure for heavy duty diesel engines, emissions of engines for off-road machinery, etc.
