Abstract
Each year, approximately two million vehicles in France, and fourteen million in Europe, reach the end of their lives.
The processing of those vehicles through shredders is the basis of an economic process focussed on the recycling of scrap in the steel industry.
Thus, today, 75% of the ground scrap (ferrous and non-ferrous) is recovered and recycled, and the remaining 25 % is disposed of in landfills.
