Abstract

In the papers the evolution of the automotive electric-power system with combustion engines is presented, till the apparition of the semiconductors. After that the mutations in the evolution of the automotive electric-power system are presented. Those elements (diodes, thyristors and transistors working in switching mode) have determined one side the modification of the structure of the classic automotive electric system, and on the other side permit the reconsideration of drive system using electrical motors. In the second part of the papers it is showed that with these power semiconductors elements it is possible to have energy control without losses and so the researches for electric vehicle (EV) are tacked again. The structure and particularity of electrical drive system of actually EV are presented, with advantages and disadvantages of electrical drive versus the combustion engine automotive. The electric-energy system of the automotive with hybrid drive is the character of the third part of papers. n the final part the perspectives of the electric-energy system of automotive are presented, determined by the future improvement in the field of semiconductors or more in the field of electric sources.
