Abstract
Hybrid power trains, especially parallel hybrids are regarded to be able to reduce the fuel consumption. The special operating strategy of the Autark Hybrid Transmission of the Technical University Munich tries to use the two drive units in order to avoid the partial load area of the ic engine with its high specific fuel consumption. Using this strategy a reduction of fuel consumption can be achieved. The amount of saved energy depends mainly on the motorization of the vehicle, on the driving cycle and on the conversion efficiencies of the intermediate storage of the energy. The article shows the energy saving potential of the presented operation strategy in dependence on the called main influences.
