Abstract
What is attracting wide attention now as the next generation active safety technique which freely controls the braking force of each wheel to directly control the yaw moment of the vehicle and stabilize the position of the vehicle in its critical area. The technique is being commercialized in some passenger cars, but there are practically no case studies on applications of the technique in the truck for which the need for stabilization of the behavior of the vehicle in its critical area is greater than for a passenger car because of its lager vehicle mass, size and inertial moment. Such being the case, this report describes application of the technique in a heavy duty truck and how it drastically improves the emergency avertability and operational traceability of the truck .
