Abstract
The most modern car gearboxes are the CVTs. Two technical solutions are used:a) conventional
CVTs: In this case the whole power of the engine runs trough the variator. This solution is used for small and medium power vehicles. Its use in large power vehicles implies an increase in the gauge of the variator and weight of the gearbox; b) coupling the variator with a differential gear: Only part of the engine power is transmited through the variator. The solution is preferable for large power engines. In the paper are presented solutions which have the necessary range of ratio and a low power, which acts as load on the variator. The solutions are in the process of being patenting.
