Abstract
Diesel injection systems are changing towards increased pressures and electronic control to comply with future emission regulation. Simulation of the dynamic behaviour of these systems is a tool to speed up design and to reduce development cost. In this paper the applicability of the BOND-GRAPH techniques to high pressure hydraulic systems are discussed jointly with the main problems to be solved and the assumptions to be made. As an application of the modelling technique a diesel injection system is studied, showing the good agreement with experimental measurements. To demonstrate the capability of the model some parametrical analysis is presented, and behaviour of the injection parameters with different fuels is studied.
