Abstract
A method for the development of controller functions is presented: Virtual Prototyping. This is controller prototyping and design verification using closed-loop simulation with a model of the controlled plant.
With the ASCET tool, controller functions can be developed, tested and put into operation in the laboratory. A first set of controller parameters can also be determined before the first tests on the real system.
The procedure is explained using a GDI engine controller. A GDI engine simulation model is described. This model was used to verify the design of the controller.
