Abstract
Valeo's strategy is to reach a for profitable growth through total quality, competitive costs, global presence and advanced technology. Regarding Climate control systems, a key target to sustain and control this growth strategy is the mastering of the air conditioning system. This is the reason why in this specific technical field Valeo Climate control decided early in 1996 to develop a software package for the design and simulation of automotive air-conditioning systems. This software package aims at improving Valeos response to customer requirements regarding development lead time, optimized sizing of car air-conditioning systems and product cost reductions. Further more, it helps Valeo to capitalize competence and expertise on the A/C systems thanks to its components database.
The software consists of three modules:
¨ A first module for car cabin thermal simulation in dynamic and stationary conditions.
¨ A second module for selection and optimization of the A/C system components for a given vehicle performance target..
¨ A third module is now under validation for the dynamic simulation of the A/C system in non-standard operating conditions (driving cycle...) and the prediction of possible malfunctioning ( noise, vibration...) in external situations.
