Abstract
Ferrous materials used in a passenger car have been reduced from 81% to 71% in these 20 years in Japan, and have also been changed in quality for meeting the social demands on environment and safety. Many kinds of steel product recently developed in Japan are introduced in this paper such as high strength steel, surface coated steel, noise damping steel, stainless steel, special steel and free cutting steel.
