Abstract
The project of the new Alfa Romeo rear axle originates from the idea that the assessment of optimal performance in the vehicles active safety, comfort and weight reduction fields, should be necessarily joined to the achievement of a well studied product from the manufacturing point of view. Starting from an original idea and following a well defined operating model a big effort was performed to carry out a new product that was significant under all the viewpoints. In order to explain how a similar task was attained a complete overview of the project, from the suspensions archetype definition to the components manufacturing, is given below.
