Abstract
An in depth accident study was carried out in Spain due to an accident with fire involving two vehicles, a saloon and a coach. The aim of this study is to ensure a better understanding of accident-causing mechanisms from an active standpoint, as soon as the analysis of the fire beginning and spreading stages throughout the passengers compartment, and finally the fitting research of the emergency escape devices installed in the coach.
The final conclusions from this reconstuction are used to propose recommendations concerning the location, the protection and the materials of the coach fuel tank, as soon as proposals to improve the coach passengers information about evacuation devices located in the coach.
