Abstract

This paper describes the methodological aspects of human factors integration in the design process, presenting the example of the Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) study.

First, the methodology for assessing the use of a driving support system in order to verify if its provides the driver with the support he waits for and reach the safety requirements will be presented.

Secondly, we will focus on a specific to developped by PSA, providing a new way for human factors specialists and engineers to collaborate in the design process.

The third part will present partial results of one test of study conducted on the ICC.

The conclusion will point out the need to conduct a deeper analysis
