Abstract
The concept of the efficiency of the passenger car use is discussed. Several ways of improving the efficiency of passenger cars in urban environment are proposed. The maximized rate of use together with the reduction of the vehicle population is suggested as the primary efficiency improvement method. The concept of a system for shared car use is proposed. The system implementation issues and possible benefits are discussed. The recommendations on implementing the system are made.
