Abstract

To prepare the flexible system necessary to handle a variety of environmental changes, we have developed a steering system for intelligent lateral control which compensates for external torque disturbances, utilizing our current steering torque control strategy. By simulating the system functions, we found that this system maintains vehicle stability, and has a self-canceling effect on the autonomous lateral control system by recognizing the driver handling actions. We have confirmed the basic performance of the system and its effect on each system function. This paper describes our findings and its future issues.
