Abstract
Transport management has become an important part of transport planning apart of instructure planning. The Munich Greater Area has an excellent multimodal and integrated transport infrastructure. Due to increasing motorisation, suburbanisation and the developments in the organisation of the economy and the requirements of the consumers transport demand is increasing and the transport networks are getting saturated at least in critical sections and limited times of the day. Transport management has been demonstrated in several European R+D-projects to be a means to contribute to the solution of transport problems. The paper reports on these activities and the resulting achievements for Munich Greater Area.
