Abstract
The first part of this lecture presents the state of worldwide anthropogenic and natural emissions for the components carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, nitrous oxides, methane and non-methane-hydrocarbons.
The second part of this study shows a forecast of traffic emissions for the components carbon mono- and dioxides, nitrogen oxides, total and non-methane hydrocarbons and particles for western industrial countries taking Germany as an example.
The statements of part one and two will lead to the following conclusion:
A significant improvement of the environment's present situation can be achieved if all countries take over the strict exhaust emissions standards of the Western European countries.
