Abstract

This paper examines the actual improvements in Combat Support Vehicle effectiveness through the use of increasingly sophisticated suspensions. Using vehicle dynamics modelling, it is possible to ascertain the individual vehicle ride performance and power consumption over standard terrain profiles. Subsequently the Nato Reference Mobility Model (NRMM), is used to determine the overall performance of three competing systems.
