Abstract
In order to investigate the vibrations of vehicles, the automotive industry often uses rigid body simulation programs. With the help of these programs, complex mechanical substitute models can be generated and their reactions, when travelling on a rigid surface, can be examined. With the help of the newly developed tyre module STINA, it is now possible to simulate movement on soft surfaces with the program ADAMS. The following paper will describe the structure of the new model and will give an overview of possible applications. Furthermore, examples of simulations examining the vibrations of vehicles will be presented and discussed.
