Abstract

To investigate the interaction of tyre and ground by simulation it is necessary to rebuild the behaviour of tyre and soil by mathematical models. The existing analytical models omit some essential effects. Here the Finite-Element-Method provides the possibility for an improved simulation. To reach adequate FEM-models the basic mechanics of the tyre and the soil have to be regarded. In the paper interesting effects concerning the tyre deformation with respect to the excitation on deformed road and the soil deformation with respect to off-road mobility are explained on hand of according simulation results.
