Abstract
In a mass production context, manufacturing equipment are rather specialized and choices must be made while future product variants and design improvements are unknown. To deal with uncertainty, a decision making method is proposed and based on economical performance, investment and reactivity. Estimation and assessment tools supply a detailed manufacturing cost. A first software tool allow to deal with a high level of detail inside the CAD/CAM system. A second one helps to assign diversity to manufacturing plants.
