Abstract
Qualitative and quantitative changes in the cargo and passenger transport in nineties in Poland are a result of changes in the social and economic system in the country and market economy building. An increasing role of motor transport in the branch structure of transport and transport work is observed. An increase of registered car vehicles number takes place as well. An individual motorisation is characterised by particularly high dynamics. There take place some changes in the structure of load capacity of trucks. To modernise the car park used in Poland is an important task for the oncoming years.
