Abstract

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is used to predict the performance of torque converter. This paper is one of the methods to improve the accuracy of CFD for torque converter. One of the reasons that errors are caused that the design blade shape is different from actual production blade shape. The blade shape after assembling in the torque converter is acquired by optical 3-Dimensional measurement. This data was then used for the CFD model. As a result, the differences between the testing result and CFD result was reduced.
