Abstract
An important, yet time-consuming part in vehicle development are durability sign-off tests. These tests should reflect customer's usage. To define the target for the tests many different load channels are measured. This target - which can be used either for sign-off tests on a proving ground or a test rig - can be represented by a set of histograms, e.g. rainflow matrices for all channels. This paper presents a novel method that calculates the optimal combination of measurement segments or proving ground events to meet the defined target. The description of the process ranges from data collection to the definition of the test procedure. A case study is also presented.
