Abstract
An accurate and repeatable measurement of truck-induced spray is required to develop and test spray-reducing devices. A video-based spray-measuring and analysis system has been successfully developed at RMIT in conjunction with the Australian Federal Office of Road Safety.
In this paper, the spray-measuring system is described and results of on-road trials are presented. The results show that the system is able to produce repeatable results without being significantly effected by varying ambient light and wind conditions.
