Abstract

This study is concerned with the static structural stability and crash worthiness of seat in vehicle impact. Firstly. static responses of seat frame are analyzed to get the information about high stressed regions and the optimized design is proposed. which is verified in the impact analyses. The slide model without seat frame is used to get the appropriate smooth loading times and acceptable results for the quasi-static behaviour of seat slide by using commercial explicit code. Impact behaviour of full seat assembly model including seat frame and slide. etc. .is analyzed to check structural stability of current model according to the regulations of FMVSS 207. 210. Based on the results of analyses. some modifications are proposed. The parametric study is carried out to optimize the seat and the final model is proposed to satisfy the regulations. These procedures are applied to the design of seat to get the optimized model in the aspect of crash worthiness.
