Abstract

The powder spray process designed to form an optimum thickness of sintered layers with the desired properties, such as, wear-resistance, on Fe-C alloys surface was developed. The liquidus mixtures with polymer, solvent, and metal powders were applied on Fe-C alloy surface by the spray gun. The sintered layer, which were consisted of complex carbides, was formed by following sintering treatment. Micro-hardness test of complex carbides was performed as a function of temperature. The complex carbides had microhardness of Hv 1100-1450 at room temperature and Hv 800 at 700°C which indicated excellent wear- resistance.
