Abstract
The trend which is introducing computer integrated manufacturing (CIM) system in order to reduce the development lead time, increase productivity and strengthen the competitive power of products in an overall industry is rapidly penetrating the automotive industry today. Engineering database as a major technology in constructing this system has emerged. In this study, the conceptual database design as the first stage to build engineering database for development system of engine control unit in the automotive industry is implemented and the expectation effects are described.
