Abstract
This paper reports the processes of thermal analysis applied to the exhaust manifold, the features newly developed heat flow analysis code, and its practical applications. Comparisons are performed between the results of bench test and calculation for temperature distribution and thermal elastic/plastic stress. As a result, the new code has been found capable of reproducing typical phenomena observed in the bench tests, and thus the authors believe the new method to be useful.
