Abstract
The market potential of intelligent transportation systems in the U.S. is vast. The economic conditions exist in the U.S. to support a rapid and lasting growth of the emerging market for advanced transportation technology. Although ITS is a relatively new industry sector, the market trends for ITS are favorable because ITS serves enduring, basic needs - the need for safer, more efficient more enjoyable transportation. The in-vehicle sector of ITS is the focus of this paper.
