Abstract

In recent years, air pollution is the most serious problem in Bangkok metropolitan area. Therefore, the design and development of electric car has been fully supported by our government specially the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center. This paper describes the development of electric car which has overall weight included load approximately 800 kilogram. The maximum speed is 60 kilometer per hour. Three phase, one hundred volt induction motor has been used to drive the electric car. The controller 3-phase pulsewidth modulator has been designed and developed to control the three phase induction motor by regulating not only the frequency but also the voltage of the current. Battery is an ordinary maintenance-free lead acid type 144 voltage 65 Amphere-hour capacity.
