Abstract

The difficulty and key problem of the AMT is the clutch start control. Base on analysing the pattern which the excellent drivers operate the clutches and studying the tests, we classify the clutch start control into three patterns, ie. the normal, the fast and the half engagement. At the same time, divide its process into three stages: ie. (1) accelerate the engine speed to the hope level according to the accelerate pedal; (2) select a specifical clutch control pattern by the accelerate pedal; (3) engage the clutch and ensure the engine has enough drive capability. Here applicates the Expert Fuzzy control (FFC) method to control the engine and the clutch.
