Abstract

Vehicle structural improvements, for example, weight reduction, need the accelerated testing for design verifying. Since the design can be mislead by false failure occurred in the test, the properly controlled accelerated testing becomes an important and key technique. This paper focuses on studying the effects of the test conditions on vehicle structural accelerated test for test controlling. Road profile meter and dynamic strain measure instrument has been used to investigate the varieties of the load power spectrum and fatigue damage on vehicle structure excited by changing of road surface irregularity and running speed. Some rational principles for vehicle structural accelerated testing are proposed based on these test results. The conclusions of this paper are also significant for improving existing accelerated test procedures and test tracks.
