Abstract

Recycling automotive parts made from sheet molding compound (SMC) has become one of the most important and urgent subjects. This paper concerns with a system to recover SMC molded parts and recycle them to original automotive parts. In our previous paper, we reported that the "sandwich structure", in the core layer of which regrinded filler is concentrically involved, is useful for not only increasing the volume of the involved regrinded filler but reducing the weight of recycled parts. This time, the recycling technology was applied to other molded parts, that is, "low density SMC" molded parts, to study the results.
