Abstract
This paper is intended to access two different measurement methods of fuel injection rate. One is the laser Doppler velocimetry (LDV), the other is a momentun method. In LDV measurements, the flow velocity in a glass tube filled with fuel is measured by the LDV. In momentum measurements, a pressure sensor with high response is placed at the nozzle exit to measure the fuel momentum. The LDV method was found to be able to detect precisely the transitional injection process at the beginning and the end of injection. And then the LDV method can be considered as a suitable way for gasoline injection rate measurement.
