Abstract

This paper describes the comparison of low emission characteristics and practicality such as performance, economy of methanol vehicles (MVs), compressed natural gas vehicles (NGVs) and electric vehicles (Evs) with same technological index. Each AFVs have a benefit for utilize as clean fueled vehicles. However, those AFVs are usually inferior to current gasoline and diesel vehicles in practical uses. This paper discusses suitable methods to implement their use under considering low emission characteristics for improvement of air quality in urban areas, green house gas emission, alternative energy resources and energy conservation.
