Abstract

These days, the environmental impact of automobiles is drawing a great deal of interest. In an effort to decrease automotive scrap while decreasing wood usage, we have developed a substitute for some wood parts. The objective for substitute materials is to attain or exceed the necessary physical properties of wood. In this report, we describe the use of such a material for gate board and sill frame spacers for current model commercial trucks. In addition, this report introduces the results of our inves- tigation, the possible replacement of sill frames using the same, or similar technology.
