Abstract
This paper describes the dimensioning process of a new driveline with continuously variable transmission (CVT), a powersplitting planetary gearset and an additional low-energy compact flywheel. The flywheel and powersplit allow to keep the engine running on its most fuel efficient operating line while not impairing longitudinal drivability. To optimize the design parameters of the additional components, a dynamic driveline model is developed. In combination with a driveline management control system, the properties of the new driveline are issued in this paper.
