Abstract
Though the concept of gasoline direct injection is old and that it has been applied even from the early days of the internal combustion engine it is only recently that it has made his way into mass production. This was made possible thanks to the progress in electronics end computerised engine management. This paper will present the problematic of mixture formation process in the gasoline direct injection engine, the advantages it offers and also its downsides.
