Abstract

In the high speed direct injection Diesel engines the ignition delay is a critical parameter for air-fuel mixing and combustion processes. The amount of ignition delay time effect the fuel conversion efficiency, smoothness of operating characteristics, misfire, smoke emissions, noise and ease of starting. Generally, in direct injection Diesel engines for passenger's car, is necessary to reduce the ignition delay time if the speed of engine increase.

In this paper are presented the theoretically and experimentally results of the studies develops in Automotive and Engines Department of University TRANSILVANIA Brasov for design of a new system for control ignition delay time in D. I. Diesel engines, with application in direct injection Diesel engines for passenger's car design and manufacture.
