Abstract
Starting from a previous paper of the author and using data similar those of the actual truck-trailers, the present paper analyzes the conditions when, during steady cornering, the sidewise skidding of the truck-trailer axles is generated. It has been ascertained that, depending on the values of the adherence coefficient and the values of the turning radius, the sidewise skidding of the front truck axle or of the rear truck axle is possible first. The sidewise skidding depends on the road gradient and the motion direction. During downhill we consider that the truck-trailer is braked with the engine and if so with the retarder.
